THE SPRINKLE SQUAD
Executive Director & President of the Board
Jaime is the Founder and Executive Director of For Goodness Cakes. Her background in pastry is mostly self-taught with a smattering of intensive courses at the Gourmandaise School of Sweets and Savories in Santa Monica. She founded and operated a food truck called The Butterscotch Girl in the Bay Area serving pot de creme desserts.
The idea for the nonprofit came to her several years ago in a rather unusual aha! moment, as birthdays are generally a time for a celebrate of self rather than for others. After living in Los Angeles for over a year and doing months of research, For Goodness Cakes finally opened in January of 2016. She is deeply appreciative of her colleagues, volunteers, and agencies who believed in her mission to join and collaborate.
In her spare time, Jaime has too many hobbies which include simple leatherwork, throwing tea parties, yoga, folding origami, and (the most obvious) baking. Her favorite cookbooks include Alice Water’s The Art of Simple Food and Donia Bijan’s Maman’s Homesick Pie: A Persian Heart in an American Kitchen, both of whose authors helped to inspire a deep love of cooking for others.
Secretary of the Board
Ryan Laughlin is a Producer in the video game industry. He currently works in the Live Services group at Riot Games and helps keep League of Legends' service running 24/7 across the globe. Being more of a taste tester than a baker, Ryan spends his time helping the non-profit by driving Jaime's creations around the city. When he's not working you can find him playing guitar, learning the art of making deliciously smoked meats, and perfecting his chili recipe.
Treasurer of the Board
Sarah is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Colorado, who spent the first five and a half years of her career working as an auditor with public accounting firms in both the Denver and Los Angeles markets. During her time as an auditor, she worked in several industries including non-profit organizations. She currently works in the Accounting & Finance department for Quigg, a luxury home builder, in Los Angeles.
She joined the board of For Goodness Cakes because she was immediately drawn to and inspired by their mission. Coming from a family where she was privileged enough to have birthday parties every year, its easy to forget that a birthday celebration is just not an option for so many children. She views birthdays as a time for celebration of the year past and of hope for the year to come, all which is symbolized by the blowing out of candles on a cake. To be able to contribute to the celebration and hope of the lives of kids by baking cakes is an opportunity she couldn't pass up! All she hopes is to make at least one day, for kids who face so much adversity, a little sweeter.

Head of Operations
Veronica moved to LA with her family in 2015 from England, where she was a Project Manager for University College London and its spin-out companies; responsible for the development of new medical technologies and pharmaceuticals. She has two Masters degrees in Pharmacology and Immunology and is a Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute. Rather fittingly, Veronica joined the For Goodness Cakes team as Head of Operations after meeting the founder, Jaime, at a cookbook club and realizing this had been the opportunity she had been looking for to combine her organizational skills with her love of baking and philanthropy.
Kaela is an undergraduate student at Scripps College in Claremont, CA. She is pursuing a degree in linguistics and media studies but loves to bake on the side and is very grateful for the opportunity to be on the Sprinkle Squad. She is an avid hockey fan, loves the beach, and is always searching for the perfect burrito.
Jessica is an Art Director and Designer with a primary focus of volunteering her design skills to help build nonprofit brands in an area where it is usually quite costly. She has a degree in Advertising and spent a majority of her young career creating campaigns and designing for Popchips, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, VMware, and The Salt Institute. However, her passion is to help nonprofits, such as For Goodness Cakes, the Women's Building, GreatNonprofits.org and more, to create exciting and well-designed assets to help with fundraising and other needs. Whenever she has free time (which she doesn’t), she likes to adventure around San Francisco.
